THANKS FOR THE INCREDIBLE SUPPORT!
Our 2021 Veggie Box program is full! If you would like to be notified when boxes go on sale for 2022, you can join our Wait List below.
The Veggie Box is a form of Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA), a model first established in the 1960s by Dr. Booker T. Whatley, a Black farmer and agricultural professor from Alabama. The model allows eaters like you to help provide financial support at the beginning of the farming season when farmers incur the bulk of our expenses buying seeds, equipment, tools, and more. In return, you receive supremely fresh, local veggies and become part of a community of people invested in sustaining a small, local queer- and woman-owned farm. It's also a unique opportunity to decrease the impact of your food consumption on the climate, get more acquainted with your food, know who and where it comes from, and learn how eating with the seasons impacts your body.
As a member, each week you receive:
delicious, just-harvested box of vibrant veggies with a variety of 6-12 items, depending on your box option
weekly newsletter with updates from the farm, a list of what's in the box, recipes, and tips for how to best utilize your produce

Share Options
Community Nourishment Share: Sliding Scale option from $650 and up
While we work hard to provide produce at prices that are affordable, we offer this option for people who are able to provide additional financial support to our community. Your funds increase our capacity to offer free and reduced-cost veggie boxes to folks who need them. Community Nourishment Shares mirror the resilience of the land; it demonstrates that an ecosystem can balance itself when all the organisms support each other. Members choosing this option will select either a Full Share or Half Share size.
Full Share: $600 for a weekly share with 6 - 9 vegetables/week
This share is designed for 1-2 heavy-duty veggie eaters that cook most of their meals at home or 3-4 folks who like veggies and cook a few meals per week at home.
Half Share: $425 for a weekly share with 4 - 6 vegetables/week
This lighter share is designed for 1-2 people who cook a moderate amount of veggies every week or 3-4 people that want to have a couple home-cooked veggie dishes per week.
Reduced Cost or Free Share
We have a number of reduced-cost or free shares available each season and these members can choose between a Full or Half Share. To learn more, please email kamayanfarm@gmail.com.
Flower Share Add-On
Make your own day by adding a flower share onto your Veggie Box each week! With the Flower Share Add-On, you’ll receive a unique bouquet that shows off the freshest beauties in the field. We grow over 100 varieties of specialty heirloom flowers, grains, and grasses to make a well-rounded bouquet. From better-known zinnias, snapdragons, and dahlias to the more mysterious black wheat, corn cockles, and celosia, we hope that our selection of weekly flowers will surprise and delight you.
If you’re asking yourself, “why support local flowers?” well, there are lots of great reasons! Eighty percent of flowers in the U.S. are imported, have a heavy carbon footprint, and are generally sprayed with chemicals to help them grow and even more to preserve them through their long journey. Plus, our farm offers diversity that can’t be beat and we think that witnessing the seasonal changes through flowers will bring you joy!
Flower Share: $240 for 12 weeks of bouquets
Flower shares will be picked up each week with your Veggie Boxes from July 6th through September 21st, 2021.
